” ‘Tough Love’ Message I Recently Gave To A Team Member”

Today I want to share a “tough love” message I recently sent to a Global Resorts Network team member. Now you should know that this team mate is EXCELLENT.
One of his many gifts is his passion and his ability to IMPLEMENT….both indicators of success. However, what I noticed was this team member’s attending lots of networking and live events and a decided drift away from the fundamentals.
I absolutely know that this team mate is on track for monumental success (and on the way to making me big money as a result) and I don’t want him to get too far off track…so I wrote him the following email.
I want YOU to pay very close attention to what I’m telling him because in 9 chances out of 10 it applies to YOU too.
Google PPC
-I have retained a tech consultant for the team who will create a capture page template for you THAT YOU CAN USE FOR ALL YOUR GOOGLE PPC
ADVERTISING and avoid the Google Slap.

By all means continue your PPC work on MSN, Yahoo and ramp up with Google when you get ******to get a capture page template. Even with an advertising coop you MUST ALWAYS CONTINUE ALL YOUR OWN PPC AND OTHER ADVERTISING
The Importance of Focus
-Beware of dividing yourself too thinly and getting involved in too many things. While networking at live events is fun, extremely useful etc., you must always implement the basics correctly FIRST…namely, generating leads and converting those leads to sales and cash.
What this means for you is focus on your PPC in addition to any other lead gen activities including the ad coop and AT THE LEAST, sending your list to my Tuesday 7 figure gameplan team training then looping back and scheduling a phone appt with them after the training. Ideally you want to conduct your own live webinars when your list gets to be 50 people or so.
San Francisco Team Briefings
-whether I’m in Las Vegas or not, plan on being in SF in August. I will conduct closed door, team only briefings during that time where I’ll show more lead generation, advertising and lead conversion techniques that are working to make me money. I’ll also explain how you can use my Internet Marketing Beginner’s Bootcamp (complete step by step video training) to train your prospects, use it as an incentive to have people join you and make $200 per sale.
More On Focus
I know you’re excited and that’s one of your gifts…your passion. I also want you to focus that passion and become keenly aware of how every dollar you spend must generate a return on investment. Don’t want you to wake up one day and realize in your excitement you’ve spent money (invest in yourself…cool) but not getting any return on it.
The quickest and most reliable way to receive ROI is to focus time and money on THE BASICS FIRST
1. create a compelling offer
2. drive TRUCKLOADS of traffic to your offer (PPC and other advertising..and staying with it until it works..because it does..every and I mean every guru got that way from PPC) including participating in lead co op
3. convert traffic to targeted leads (lead capture page does this automatically)
4. convert leads to sales and cash (phone appts, live webinars, live events and autoresponder follow up)
So as you’re connecting with the world..be sure you keep your eye on the 4 marketing pillars above. Your goal is no less than 3-5 leads /day and then ramp up to 25 leads per day from all sources. Once you get to this level…you will have much to say to someone when you network with them!!
Be sure to contact ***** asap and get a google ppc template made and then reup with your Google ads.

Do you see what I’ve done in my email to this team member?
First, I’ve recognized his gifts and his initiative even as I point out some issues I recognize. The fact that I’m on top of my team and him enough to know what’s up with him tells him I’m a good leader and that I care about him. It also models leader behavior for him for HIS team members.
Next I gently but clearly point out that all our marketing efforts must be focused on the 4 marketing pillars with an end to return on our investment.
Next I offer my positive suggestions on what TO DO rather than just tell him what he should NOT be doing.
And finally I offer my assistance as his team leader.
This is a great lesson for you on how to be a leader . Remember, people are looking for a leader to help them make money and reach their goals. Be that leader and you will have people begging to join you….just as I do.
