Many of you may be experiencing “The Home Business Trap.” What is this you ask?

The “Home Business Trap” is when you leave your 9-5 job because you want more freedom and time for your family…..and you end up spending EVEN MORE TIME in front of your computer in your own business!! How do you avoid this?   Watch and learn:

At the beginning you have a TON to learn….

internet marketing
lead generation
copywriting
proper follow up and recruiting
putting up web pages
sales
tax, accounting
time management

Of course the learning curve at the beginning seems overwhelming at times.  This is where you ABSOLUTELY MUST employ systems and a personal mentor to speed up this learning process.

For example, your first step, putting up web pages, should be done using a proven system that allows you to put your custom videos on pages that are already designed with proven copy.   The system you use should also allow you to collect leads (name and email) when a prospect comes to your web page.  If you try to design all your own pages from scratch…you’ll NEVER get started and you’ll quit…ask me how I know!!!

Your mentor should then review your web pages and help you make any minor changes needed to optimize the page’s performance.

Next is sending traffic to your web pages.  Now if you are on a tight budget, you will use Free Lead Generation like social media, forum posting, article marketing and video marketing.  While effective, these strategies take time every day to implement (about 1-2 hours/day) and they also take time before they are effective.(several months typically).

Paid traffic generation on the other hand costs more but is immediate and once set up you don’t have to “do it” every day like you do with Free Lead Generation.  Your ads are up and generate leads automatically like little robots.  Yes you must always check your ads to make sure they’re still performing…and when they don’t you must rewrite them, delete them or whatever.

Next you must use software that attaches to your webpages that automatically sends follow up messages to the prospects who leave their name and email.  This is the beginning of your automated follow up that delivers your message.

You see, your web pages and your automated follow up constitute the bulk of your follow up and is the way you create a relationship with your prospects.  People will buy from you when they know you, like you and trust you.

Next, after your systems (web pages and automatic follow up) tell your story and sort the winners from the whiners “hands free”,  your next step is to add to your follow up program and conduct “live” weekly webinars.  These live webinars can contain 1-1000 people and is where you can be “live” and “in person” to many people all at once…again, leveraging your time.

The final step in this automated process is for the interested prospects to call you (as you direct them to do in all of your web pages, automatic follow ups and live webinars…).  Now, if you’ve created your funnel correctly, only highly interested prospects will emerge from the end of your funnel and you will then only be spending your time with people who are serious.

Once your funnel is set up your only work each day is to conduct whatever webinars you schedule (I conduct 4 live trainings each week) and check on your campaigns especially if you’re using PPC.  Thus you should be able to generate 5-10 or more leads each day with no more than 1-2 hours per day in your business.

The take home message….

Systems, automation and a mentor who can help you get everything set up and avoid distractions (people attempting to sell you more crap…seduce you into going on useless “marketing trips/cruises/outings…”) and showing you where and how to spend your marketing dollars are vital to helping you run your business efficiently and have time for fun ….

Which was the whole point in the first place.
